This webinar will showcase the Value of Bulk Ore Sorting at the mine face in base metal mines (e.g. Cu, Ni, Zn, Fe). Bulk ore sorting at the mine face substantially improves the efficiency and amount of metal extracted from an ore body, which makes it an essential technology to support the world’s electrification towards a green economy. The webinar will be jointly presented by Professor Bern Klein from the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering at the University of British Columbia and several members of the GeoScience Team at MineSense Technologies Limited, a Vancouver-based Greentech company focused on Bulk Ore Sorting at the mine face.
Presenters will describe the Bulk Ore Sorting landscape, how it helps to meet demand for green metals, and discuss advances in sensor-based sorting of ore from waste at the mine face. The operation of in-bucket XRF sorting technology will be explained in detail and Value from installations at mine sites in North and South America will be shown. The webinar concludes with an overview of planned sensor developments at MineSense and UBC to improve the capability of Bulk Ore Sorting.
Who should attend and why?
Mine and processing plant managers who want to learn more about how Bulk Ore sorting at the mine face can improve the Value of their operations. Geologists, mining engineers, and metallurgists involved with grade control in the mine or recovery in the processing plant are encouraged to attend to gain a better understanding of how Bulk Ore Sorting works and what benefits it can bring.
